Our theme this season is "Restoring Community and Dignity". We are presenting productions that engage Raleigh and the Triangle with stories of community, resilience, dignity, and shared history, while prioritizing equitable access and educational opportunities.
The season opens with Neil Simon’s Rumors, produced with PLTC’s Revolutionary Voices and the Theatre Club at William Peace University, October 9–18, 2026. This comedy engages students and community members in leadership, performance, and production through rehearsals, workshops on comedic timing and stage intimacy, and post-show discussions on communication, social anxiety, and interpersonal dynamics.
In December for the holiday season, we have our very own Motown and Soul Christmas touring December 12-13 in Raleigh, NC, December 19-20 in Clayton, NC and December 22-23 in Cary, NC.
In February–March 2027, PLTC presents August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean, set in 1904 Pittsburgh, highlighting African American struggles for freedom and dignity. Performances February 19–March 7 include talkbacks, storytelling workshops, and mentorship in acting, design, and production, emphasizing cultural representation, historical understanding, and intergenerational collaboration.
The season concludes with the musical Dessa Rose by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, April 16–May 2, 2027, a story of friendship and solidarity in pre–Civil War America, engaging students and emerging artists through rehearsals, ensemble participation, and educational outreach on historical context, music, and collaborative theatre-making. Across all productions, PLTC centers equity, intergenerational leadership, and measurable community impact.
