About the Show

Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Bright Star tells the unforgettable story of Alice Murphy, a literary editor whose past holds a secret that could change everything. Inspired by true events, this Tony-nominated musical blends the soulful sounds of bluegrass with a sweeping Broadway score, bringing a tale of love, loss, and redemption to life. With stunning music and a deeply moving narrative, Bright Star is an experience that stays with you long after the final note.

Step into the extraordinary world of Ride the Cyclone, a darkly funny, whimsically bizarre, and surprisingly heartfelt musical that takes audiences on an unforgettable ride. When a freak accident claims the lives of six teenagers from the St. Cassian Chamber Choir, they find themselves in a mysterious carnival-like limbo, where a mechanical fortune teller offers them a chance to tell their stories — and one final shot at life. With a blend of hauntingly beautiful music, offbeat humor, and poignant reflection, Ride the Cyclone explores themes of fate, forgiveness, and what it truly means to be remembered.

Presented by Pure Life Theatre's Revolutionary Voices Theatre, a collective of young artists dedicated to shifting the norms — where all are welcomed, inspired, and challenged to generate and impact change through theater and performance — this production is part of Burning Coal Theatre's Second Stage Season.
