Pure Life Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone, a profound exploration of identity, freedom, and the search for belonging. Set in a Pittsburgh boarding house in 1911, this play weaves together the stories of formerly enslaved people and their descendants navigating the Great Migration and seeking their place in a new world. We're seeking a diverse ensemble of actors ready to bring August Wilson's poetic language and rich characters to life.

How Auditions Work
Group Audition (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)

All auditionees will be called at 12:00 PM (except for Reuben/Zonia roles)

You'll perform cold readings from sides provided at the audition

Special Note for Youth Roles:
Auditions for the roles of 11-year-old Reuben Mercer and Zonia Loomis will be held separately. Please contact our Artistic Director, Aya Wallace, at aya.wallace@purelifetheatre.com for more information about auditioning for these roles.
